Mr. Rashid Echesa, Chairman of Kenya Water Towers Agency joined his fellow chairpersons from state corporations across the country in planting five hundred assorted indigenous trees at Lenana Block, Ngong Forest. Each chairperson ensured that they planted ten trees. The tree planting exercise was organized by NETFUND Chairman Mr. David Wahiga and his KFS counterpart Mr. Job Chirchir and attended by close to fifty chairpersons.
“We support President Ruto’s tree planting agenda,” Mr. Echesa said and reiterated that to combat climate change, we must plant more trees. The chairpersons of the various organizations committed to donating 10% of their CSR budget toward tree planting in the country. This is part of the presidential target of planting 15 billion trees by 2032, thereby attaining 30% tree cover.
