It has been four years since the recovery of Maasai Mau Water Tower began. To date, more than 500,000 tree seedlings have been planted and 30KM electric fence mounted. The fence starts from Amalo River in Serra Leone through Chebitet to Masaita area. Natural rehabilitation is one of the greatest successes since the recovery was done. There are 30 scouts employed from the local community to monitor and control access to the water tower. Members of the community are allowed to cut and carry grass from the water tower.
