Boundary Demarcation Exercise at Chyulu Hills Water Tower in Makueni County

Dr Winnie Musila, Director for Ecosystem Research, Planning and Audit leading a team drawn from various institutions in assessing the status of wetlands in Chyulu Hills Water Tower in Makueni County. The team drawn from KWTA, NEMA, WRA, NLC, County Government of Makueni, KFS, WWF, KWS and Ministry of Environment, Climate Change & Forestry is assessing eight wetlands to facilitate boundary demarcation exercise. This follows the Presidential directive issued on 13th November 2023 to Gazette & conserve the all wetlands in Kenya. The team has assessed severals wetlands and springs including Kiboko Wetland, Umani Springs in Kibwezi Forest, Kibwezi Springs in Kibwezi Town, Kwa Kikoo Wetland, Kifungoni Dam, Kilui Wetland, Thange Wetland and Kambuu Springs.
