The Board of Directors led by Hon. Elisha Busienei, the Chairman for Technical Committee, inspected progress made on the Maasai Mau Electric Fence in Narok County. The fence has been billed as the best in Kenya since it uses modern technology to detect defects. The fence is also fitted with CCTV cameras to monitor any possible human or animal interference. This fence also uses solar power to minimise costs and pressure on the national grid. The Agency has hired more than 30 scouts from the local community to monitor and guard the fence. The 30KM fence starts from Amalo River through Chebitet to the Masaita area. The next phase will cover Masaita to the Nkareta area, a distance of 89KM. This will complete the fencing of Maasai Mau Water Tower, which is critical to the Mara River and the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem.
