Hon. Rashid Echesa, Chairman of Kenya Water Towers Agency, chaired a board retreat in Naivasha. PS Eng. Festus Ng’eno, Environment, and Climate Change joined the Board of Directors in the retreat that reviewed the progress made on amending the Forest Conservation and Management Act, 2016. The amendments seek to introduce the role of forest regulator. The PS said Kenya Water Towers Agency will transition to Forest Regulatory Authority and cede some of its current functions to other agencies within the Ministry. The board also reviewed the progress made on implementation of the Agency’s Strategic Plan 2021-2026. Hon. Echesa confirmed his commitment and that of the board to fully implement the plan and ensure smooth transition.
