Kenya Water Towers Adopts Ondiri Wetland Under the ;Adopt A Wetland’ Initiative by Ministry of Environment and NEMA.

The CEO, Prof. Julius Tanui led Agency staff in planting 5,000 tree seedlings at Ondiri Wetland in Kikuyu Subcounty, Kiambu County. The tree planting event was attended by officials from Kiambu County Government and other SAGAs within the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry that included NEMA, KFS, and KEFRI. In her speech read by Faith Njagi, CS Hon. Soipan Tuya commended the Agency for adopting Ondiri Wetland and urged other institutions to adopt other wetlands in the country under the ‘adopt a wetland’ initiative spearheaded by NEMA. Ondiri Wetland is the source of Nairobi River.
